PESHAWAR: The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) executive is urging the government to settle its considerable exceptional dues of over Rs 5.34 billion for electricity generated from provincial sources.
According to the Ministry of Energy and Power, the Pakhtunkhwa Energy Development Organization (PEDO) has finished six energy tasks around the province, contributing a blended 157-megawatt capability to the nationwide grid. However, there’s a topic of underpayment by way of the government for this electricity.
The Ministry experiences that the government’s unpaid dues breakdown as follows: Rs 21.36 million for the two.6-megawatt Machai Hydropower Project, Rs 3.28 million for the 1.8-megawatt Shishi Hydro Power Project, Rs 2.89 billion for the 81-megawatt Malakand III Hydro Power Project, Rs 64.5 million for the 36.6-megawatt Dara Khwar Hydro Power Project. Rs 23.59 million for the 17-megawatt Ranolia Hydro Power Project and Rs 1.32 billion for the 18-megawatt Pehur Hydro Power Project.
In general, the government has to pay a complete Rs 5.34 billion to KP electricity generated from provincial sources.
