WELLINGTON: Tom Latham will captain New Zealand in one-day internationals towards Sri Lanka with a bunch of Black Caps stars launched to their Indian Premier League golf equipment.
Latham shall be skipper for the white-ball fits at Auckland’s Eden Park on March 25, Christchurch 3 days later and Hamilton on March 31.
Kane Williamson (Gujarat Titans), Tim Southee (Kolkata Knight Riders), Devon Conway and Mitchell Santner (each Chennai Super Kings) aren’t to be had, New Zealand Cricket mentioned.
The quartet will sign up for their Indian franchises after the second one Test towards Sri Lanka, which begins in Wellington on Friday.
Williamson urged New Zealand to an exciting last-ball win over Sri Lanka within the first Test on Monday on a rain-disrupted ultimate day in Christchurch.
With a bunch of stars absent, Black Caps trainer Gary Stead has added South African-born batter Chad Bowes and seamer Ben Lister to the ODI squad.
Lister made his Twenty20 debut in India final month whilst that is the primary time Bowes has been decided on for the Black Caps.
New Zealand will host Sri Lanka in 3 Twenty20 fits following the ODI series.
