Light Rain Expected for Sindh Coast, Bringing Pleasant Weather

KARACHI: According to the Met Office, Karachi and other coastal areas of Sindh are predicted to experience drizzle or light rainfall today (Saturday) – ARY News reported.

The majority of the province will have hot and humid weather conditions today.

However, there is a chance of cloudy or partly cloudy weather with drizzle in Karachi, as well as in Badin, Thatta, Sujawal, and Tharparkar districts, as per the weather forecast.

In various parts of the city, the weather has turned pleasant this morning with the presence of clouds in the sky. The maximum temperature is expected to reach 30 to 32 degree Celsius with 60 percent humidity.

Southwestern winds are blowing in Karachi at a speed of 12 to 15 nautical miles.

The Met Office has stated that moderate monsoon currents from the Arabian Sea are penetrating the upper parts of the country. A westerly wave is also likely to enter these areas on August 13th.

Rainfall is expected in Kashmir, Gilgit Baltistan, Islamabad, Rawalpindi, Attock, Chakwal, Lahore, Peshawar, Mardan, and other districts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa from the 13th to the 16th of August with occasional breaks.

From the 14th to the 16th of August, rainfall is also expected in Kurram, Lakki Marwat, Kohat, Dera Ismail Khan, Bannu, Karak, Waziristan, Mianwali, Sargodha, Khushab, Faisalabad, Toba Tek Singh, Jhang, and Bhakkar, with occasional interruptions. Meanwhile, Dera Ghazi Khan, Rajanpur, Musa Khel, Barkhan, Zhob, Kalat, and Khuzdar will experience rainfall on the 15th and 16th of August, according to the weather report.

During this wet spell, moderate to heavy rainfall may cause urban flooding in low-lying areas of Islamabad/Rawalpindi, Peshawar, and Lahore on the 14th and 15th of August. Additionally, landslides may occur in vulnerable areas such as Murree, Galliyat, Kashmir, Gilgit Baltistan, and hilly regions of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
