Terrorists Eliminated in Counter-Terrorism Operation in Balochistan

RAWALPINDI: Two terrorists were successfully neutralized and another was injured during a recent intelligence-based operation conducted by security forces in the Mazaband Range area of Balochistan’s Kech district on August 10-11, as announced by the military.

The operation also led to the recovery of a significant amount of weapons and ammunition.

The terrorists killed in the operation were responsible for targeting innocent civilians and law enforcement agencies, according to the military’s statement.

“The security forces of Pakistan are firmly dedicated to eradicating terrorism and thwarting any malicious plans aimed at harming the country,” the statement added.

Earlier this week, a bomb explosion in Balochistan’s Panjgur district claimed the lives of seven people, including the chairman of a union council. The blast, which was triggered remotely, targeted a vehicle in the Balgatar area near the Panjgur border. Ishaq Balgatri, the UC chairman, was among the victims.

The Balochistan Home Minister, Mir Ziaullah Langove, confirmed that the victims were en route to a wedding party when they were attacked. He stated that the vehicle was targeted using a remote-controlled bomb.

The incident occurred approximately 140 kilometers away from Panjgur, near the border of Kech district.

Panjgur and Kech districts share borders with Iran.

Various violent attacks on security forces and government-supported groups have previously taken place in the region.
